HandpanTune uses microphone access only when you choose to start the tuner.
Permission is your choice
The site does not request microphone access when a page loads. Your browser asks for permission only after you press Start Microphone.
Analysis happens locally
Microphone audio is analyzed in real time by your browser to estimate pitch, frequency and cents. HandpanTune does not record, store or upload your audio.
The microphone stops when you stop
Pressing Stop closes the active microphone tracks and audio context. The tuner also releases them when you leave the page.
Page analytics and check results
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page visits and loading performance. Microphone audio and tuner readings are not sent to analytics. Full Handpan Check results stay in the current page session; Copy Results copies text to your clipboard only when you choose it.
Our product and wholesale links
HandpanTune is maintained by Luming Handpan. Links to our retail and wholesale websites may include the referring page or scale name to help us understand which guides lead to product interest. They do not include your microphone audio or tuner readings. Contact and order details you choose to submit on those websites are handled there.
Your language preference
Your selected language is saved in this browser’s local storage so it can be restored on your next visit. It is not sent to our servers. If local storage is unavailable, switching languages still works for the current visit.
Want to remove access?
You can review or revoke microphone permission at any time through your browser’s site settings. If access is blocked, the tuner will explain how to try again.
